In the early 19th century, the American wilderness is a realm of untamed beauty and brutal savagery. Hugh Glass, a seasoned fur trapper and explorer, finds himself at the mercy of the elements when he's mauled by a massive grizzly bear while on an expedition with a group of trappers.
